Patient-Based Automated Order Preparation Systems

ATDPS is a fully automated, patient-specific medication packaging system in the form of small blister packs. The system packages tablets individually (single dose, multiple dose, or drug-based) without manual handling, according to prescription information read from the hospital information system (HIS).

JVM Automated Tablet Packaging Systems

As Mühendislik offers patient-based unit dose tablet packaging solutions using the advanced technology systems of JVM, the world's largest manufacturer in this field. JVM products are next-generation packaging infrastructures that manage patient-specific medication preparation processes in hospital pharmacies with automation, traceability, and high precision.

Thanks to variable pack size technology, dose combinations tailored to each patient's treatment plan can be safely prepared within a single pack. Canister recognition systems continuously verify that the correct medication is dispensed from the correct hopper, while tablet recognition systems integrated into the machine's discharge port provide an additional layer of safety before and during packaging, minimizing the risk of errors.

JVM's wide product range offers solutions in various sizes and capacities to suit different needs, from small-scale clinics to high-capacity hospital pharmacies. As Mühendislik is the pioneering solution partner that first introduced these advanced technologies to Turkey, carried out the first installations, and supported them with its many years of experience in the field.

Why Patient-Based Packaging?

Maximum Patient Safety

Medications are automatically prepared according to the patient, dose, and administration time. Confusion and medication errors during administration are minimized.

Operational Efficiency

It reduces nursing workload and speeds up medication preparation and dispensing processes. It ensures a standard and sustainable workflow in busy clinics.

Full Compliance with Point-of-Care Verification

The barcodes and information on the packages are matched with the patient wristband, ensuring full compatibility with bedside verification systems. The principle of "right medication – right patient – right time" is digitally secured.

Automatic Canister Recognition
System (ACRS)

The Automatic Canister Recognition System (ACRS-II) contains a unique ID chip in each canister. This ensures that the canister is recognized by the system regardless of where it is placed in the machine. This makes JVM systems much more secure and practical. The canister contains a sample reservoir.

Barcode Verification for Safe Medication Delivery

The canisters containing various medications within the machine have a microchip with an ID number so that the canister can be recognized by the ATDPS system. The unique barcode on the canister, which is also on the medication, is scanned by the reader to verify that the canister has been filled correctly. An empty canister will give a light warning.
